Description

This is an injection-plastic kit of a science-fiction/anime item.

Making its first appearance in Gerry Anderson's theatrical release "Thunderbirds are GO" and later appearing in the first episode of the TV series "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons," the gigantic Zero-X was a solar system exploration spaceship and the first manned craft to land on Mars.

This large (43cm long, with a 43cm wingspan) plastic model kit of the Zero-X features detachable front and rear "lifting bodies" (wings), landing gear with gearbox for motorization (RE-140 motor and two AA batteries are not included), removable heat shield nosecone, and a deployable Martian Exploration Vehicle (MEV) with wind-up motor. The outer packaging says "Captain Scarlet," but the inner box indicates it's the Thunderbirds version...and checking the details on the MEV, it does indeed appear to be the Thunderbirds version.

The inner packaging is a replica of the 1967 issue of the Imai Thunderbirds Zero-X box with art by famed Japanese artist Shigeru Komatsuzaki.
