Description

This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The second ship of the Unryu-class, Amagi, now available with included photo-etched parts!

The "Toku Series" is a 1/700 scale waterline model, reproducing only the portion above the waterline. With detailed part division and finely engraved molding, this kit offers excellent detail and accuracy.

The hull parts are molded in light green to match the tones of Exterior Color No.22. Distinctive features unique to the Unryu-class ships are reproduced with dedicated parts. The bridge rear section is extended, incorporating the base of the tripod mast. The added gun platforms on the port midsection and both sides of the stern are reproduced in angular form.

The flight deck is intricately detailed with tie-down rings, arresting wires, expansion joints, and more, providing rich surface expression beyond simple latex-painted flat surfaces.

Four types of aircraft are included, representing the 601st Naval Air Group deployed after completion: Zero Fighter Type 52, Bomb-carrying Zero Fighter Type 21, Suisei Dive Bomber, and Tenzan Torpedo Bomber.

Two large photo-etched sheets are included. These add fine detail not possible with injection-molded parts, either as supplementary details or by replacing cut sections of plastic parts. They cover delicate ship fittings such as railings, ladders, Type 13 and Type 21 radars, arresting wires, elevators, and aircraft propellers.

Note: Photo-etched parts are metal and require painting. Use instant adhesive or rubber-based glue depending on the application.
