This is a Japanese-language book or magazine about aircraft and/or aircraft modeling. Some Japanese aircraft books, such as the Aero Detail series contain complete English text as well. See the product description below for details.
This is a description of the P-3 Orion, an anti-submarine patrol aircraft, the prototype of which first flew in 1958 and is still in service with the U.S. Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (an anti-submarine patrol aircraft is a type that uses sonar and radar to detect and capture enemy submarines while flying over the ocean for long periods of time, and attacks enemy submarines using bombs and torpedoes).
The P-3 was developed and manufactured by the U.S.-based Lockheed Corporation, and more than 100 of these aircraft were produced under license by Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Since entering service with the Maritime Self-Defense Force in the early 1980s, the P-3 has continued to protect Japan's seas to this day.
The aircraft is popular among military aircraft fans.
