The Highway Hauler, as the name suggests, is a Hot Wheels original design car inspired by a mid-range truck that transports cargo on the highway.
In America, many trucks are of the conventional type known as bonnet-type in Japan, where the engine is located in front of the driver's seat. However, this model is based on the COE (Cab-Over-Engine) type, which features the driver's seat positioned above the engine.
The Hot Wheels Highway Hauler has two major mold variants: the first debuted in 1980 and the second in 1992, with this release being based on the latter.
In this release, the cargo box is designed to resemble a ticket for a Beatles concert, and the vehicle's body is painted to match the colors of the ticket.
The green color features a ticket printed for the Beatles' first concert in Canada, held at the 'Empire Stadium' in Vancouver on August 22, 1964.
