Description
This is a fully completed and painted figure.
Beautiful, completed polystone figures of traditional Japanese (Buddhist) temple guardians "Agyou" and "Ungyou". Agyou represents aggression and overt power, with his teeth bared and his hand open, in action; Ungyou represents latent power, with his mouth closed, his arms tense but lowered. They are intended to complement one another as protectors. Each of these figures is painted in an aged-look dark brown, and is mounted on a base, ready for display; each one also has a tiny self-supporting nameplate that you can place next to him. Agyou stands about 17 cm tall, Ungyou about 16 cm tall.
