This is a wooden model kit of a building or other structure.

The Tokaido is one of the five roads established by the Tokugawa shogunate during the Edo period to unify the country, and is a road that connects Nihonbashi in Tokyo to Sanjo Ohashi in Kyoto, roughly 492 kilometers apart. Fifty-three post stations were established, and travels and goods were to be sent there one after another. Utagawa Hiroshige's ukiyo-e paintings of this streetscape are famous, and are often featured in waka and haiku.

Seki-shuku is the 47th post town on the Tokaido, corresponding to what is now Seki-cho, Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture. It has been an important transportation hub since ancient times, and at the same time as being a post town on the Tokaido, it is also located at the entrance to the Isebetsu Highway, which leads to the Ise Highway, used by people visiting Ise Grand Shrine from the Kansai area. Even today, there are more than 300 traditional machiya (traditional townhouses) existing over a 1.8-kilometer stretch from Oikawa in the east to Oiwake in the west. Utagawa Hiroshige's ukiyo-e depicts the daimyo's procession's honjin early rise, and the rush of preparations beginning in the dark of the early morning.
