Nekoyama Forest Railway is Now Open!

The Nekoyama Forest Railway is modeled after a real 762mm gauge non-electrified narrow gauge railway, downsized to 1/80 scale with a 9mm gauge. The power unit uses the TM-TR02 (for 2-axle motor cars) from the Railway Collection N Gauge, suitable for the L-type diesel locomotive. Trailer parts are compatible with the TT-03R for freight cars and passenger cars.
*L-type diesel locomotives cannot be converted into trailers, and freight cars/passenger cars cannot be motorized.
Please use TOMIX FineTrack N Gauge 9mm rails for running. (Display rails included)

By using separately sold N Gauge running parts and power units, it can run on N Gauge (9mm) rails.

The Nekoyama Forest Railway is located south of the Tomi Electric Railway Nekoya Line, spreading through the Nekoyama mountain range. The Nekoyama mountain range has been a region with thriving forestry, producing high-quality timber. To efficiently transport timber, the forest railway was laid out. Timber is transported through two routes: Ohsugi Hongo Station on the Nekoya Line (Ohsugi Timber Depot) and the Noda Timber Depot along the coast.
The operation is managed by the Nekoyama Forestry Office.

*What is a Forest Railway?
A forest railway is a railway system used for forestry purposes, primarily for transporting timber. Once numbering over 1,000 routes in Japan, they played a crucial role in timber transportation. However, with a decrease in demand for domestic timber, improved truck performance, and the development of highways, many were either abandoned or switched to truck transport, concluding their role.
