Opening of the Nekoyama Forest Railway!

The Nekoyama Forest Railway is a 1/80 scale, 9mm gauge model based on the assumption that the actual railroad is a non-electrified narrow gauge train with a 762mm gauge.

The power unit TM-TR02 (for 2-axle electric cars) for the Railway Collection N gauge is compatible with the L-type diesel locomotive, and the TT-03R for the trailer conversion parts is compatible with the timber car and passenger car.

The TT-03R is compatible with the L-type diesel locomotives and the TT-03R is compatible with the transport cars and passenger coaches.

Please use TOMIX FineTrack N gauge 9mm rails for running. (Rails for display purposes are included.)

By using optional N gauge running parts and power unit, the model can run on N gauge (9mm) rails.

The Nekoyama Forest Railway is a forest railroad located in the Nekoyama mountain range, south of the Tomii Electric Railway Nekoya Line.

The Nekosan mountain range, which produces excellent timber, has long been an active forestry area, and the forest railroad was built for efficient timber transportation.

There are two routes for transporting timber: the Nekoya Line's Osugi Hongo Station (Osugi Lumberyard) and the Noda Lumberyard by the sea.

It is operated by the Nekoyan Forestry Office.

What is a forest railroad?

A forest railroad is a railroad used in forestry to transport timber.

However, due to the decrease in demand for domestic timber, the improvement of truck performance, and the development of expressways, they have either been discontinued or have been replaced by truck transportation, thus ending their role.
