This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The K type of blimp were U.S. Navy soft airships built by Goodyear Aircraft Company. They did not have internal support structures, and were equipped with air-cooled engines on outriggers on the sides of the hull, located on the lower part of the cabin. Prior to World War II, 135 of these blimps were built and used for security networks and anti-submarine patrols due to their superior airworthiness, low-altitude operational capability and low-speed power, and were deployed in anti-submarine missions over a wide area of the Atlantic and Pacific regions.
The K-74 included in the decals for this kit was shot down in 1943 when it was engaged by a German U-134. The K-74 is the only airship lost in combat in the entire U.S. Navy airship fleet during the war.
This kit from Mark.I Model is a completely new mold! Includes an injection mooring facility mast, a resin tow tractor, a base printed on thick paper and decals for one version. Order yours today!
