This is a plastic military vehicle model.
The M4 is a medium tank developed by the United States during World War II. It was used not only by the U.S., but was also provided to Allied countries, and it was active on each front. Its development began by using the body of the M3 medium tank, which had been in mass production since 1941, and equipped it with a circling turret. A mockup was completed in May, and a prototype was completed in September. In October, it was formalized as the M4 medium. Production began in February 1942; the first mass-produced model was the M4A1, which adopted an integrated casting for the upper body. Compared to the M4, which had a welded body, there were fewer processes so mass production is quicker, so it became the first mass-produced model. The initial model was equipped with a 37.5-caliber 75mm tank gun M3, but from 1943 a type equipped with a more powerful 76.2mm tank gun M1 appeared. The ammunition storage was also improved by adopting a wet ammunition storage filled with water.
Dragon brings us a fully completed and painted 1/72-scale model of the M4A1 Sherman, the first mass-produced M4 series tank from World War II. This version is equipped with a 76mm gun and reproduces the type with wet ammunition storage. The upper part of the hull reproduces the rounded shape of the cast type, complete with its distinctive texture. The turret also has a realistic finish, as well as the shape and cast texture of the gun barrel and mantlet. The commander's hatch of the turret, the driver's hatch in the hull, the in-vehicle tools and headlights, and the details of the rear hull are all carefully duplicated. The lower part of the hull has a VVSS type suspension. The markings reproduce the vehicle "Ferocious III," belonging to the 33rd Tank Regiment of the 3rd Armored Division in Belgium in 1944. The weathered paint job is also very impressive! This completed model makes a great addition to your collection, or to your favorite diorama -- order yours today!
