Description
This is a resin-cast military vehicle model kit.
The Morris CS9 light armored car was used by the British Army during World War II. It is based on the chassis of the Morris C9 4x2 15-cwt truck, with a riveted superstructure and an open-top turret for two crew members. It was equipped with Boys anti-tank rifles, Bren light machine guns, or Vickers machine guns as its armament, along with the No.19 wireless set.
The prototype was tested in 1936, and after an order for 99 vehicles, it was deployed in 1938. During the Battle of France, 38 vehicles were used by the 12th Royal Lancers but were either destroyed or abandoned. Another 30 vehicles were supplied to the 11th Light Cavalry Brigade and deployed in the North African theater.
The kit, released by Planet Models, a resin kit brand under Special Hobby, includes resin parts, photo-etched parts, 3D-printed parts, and decals for two variants of the British 11th Light Cavalry Brigade and one captured vehicle used by the Italian army. It also features newly designed desert wheels.
