You won't want to miss this limited edition double kit from Takom and Tiger Models, the M1070 & M1000 with M1A2 SEP Abrams Tusk II in 1/72 scale! The Oshkosh M1070 is the U.S Army's current Heavy Equipment Transport System (HETS) used to transport and deploy various armored personnel carriers, self-propelled artillery, and armored bulldozers. Production of the M1070 began in 1992 after the U.S Army contracted Oshkosh to make over 1000 transport units for the M1 Abrams tank. The M1070 was paired with a DRS Technologies M1000 semitrailer specifically to tow the Abrams.
After the end of the Vietnam War, the United States needed to replace its aging M60 main battle tank with a more armored, highly mobile tank capable of total battlefield domination. In 1980 that need was fulfilled by Chrysler Defense with the M1 Abrams. Unlike its previous counterpart, the M1 is equipped with incredibly strong composite armor, separate ammunition storage to protect the crew in emergency situations, a powerful AGT1500 multifuel turbine engine, and a 120mm gun. Not long after, the M1 would receive the System Enhancement Package (SEP) with a huge amount of technical upgrades, as well as the Tank Urban Survival Kit (TUSK) with slat armor plating, gun shields for the external machine gun, and thermal sights for a remote control gun turret on the top of the tank.
