This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
Although it's easy to confuse the name of the Shinden-kai with the Shiden-kai, there is no mistaking the two planes visually. The Shinden-kai (or the pusher propeller-driven Shinden for that matter) easily wins the award in my book for most futuristic-looking plane to come out of WWII. There were some pretty outlandish German designs, but most of them never got off paper. They actually built a couple of Shindens and one flew, too. Though none were ever built, the whole Shinden project was conceived from the start as being a jet-powered aircraft. Japan's defeat got in the way of those plans, however.
Hasegawa has already released the Shinden in both 1/72 and 1/48. This time, however, we get the Shinden-kai, the jet-powered version (kit can be built as the standard propeller-driven version as well). Though this kit is hardly new, it's of good quality, with recessed panel line detail.
