This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
Although it's easy to confuse the name of the Shinden with the Shiden (navy fighter), there is no mistaking the two planes visually. The Shinden easily wins the award in my book for most futuristic-looking plane to come out of WWII. There were some pretty outlandish German designs, but most of them never got off paper. They actually built a couple of Shindens and one flew, too. Though none were ever built, the whole Shinden project was conceived from the start as being a jet-powered aircraft. Japan's defeat got in the way of those plans, however.
Hasegawa's Shinden kit, though it has a few years under its belt, is a fine kit with good recessed panel line detail throughout. Superb Shigeo Koike box art.
