Established on July 1, 1954, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. Specially painted aircraft have taken to the skies from various squadrons to commemorate this milestone. Among these, the 551 aircraft of the 3rd Squadron features a special paint scheme centered around the squadron's emblem, "Kabuto Musha." This aircraft also gained attention for its participation in the Indian Air Force exercise "Talon Shakti 24."
This product models the 551 aircraft, recreating its stunning design with decals. The kit has been designed to align panel lines with the actual aircraft, minimizing the need for seam removal. Additionally, the numerous fasteners (screw-like indentations on the upper surface of the wings) are intricately engraved to achieve a high level of precision while maintaining ease of assembly.
