This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
Arma Hobby brings us their 1/72 FM-2 Wildcat Expert Set. This kit is an entirely new mold! The FM-2 was developed by Grumman in 1942 as a lightweight version of the F4F, and is an onboard fighter for escort aircraft carriers. Its 1,350hp F-1820-56 Cyclone engine increased its climbing power and maneuverability at low altitudes compared to the F4F. The number of machine guns was also reduced to four to reduce weight, and the design of the engine cowls and flaps was also updated. It made its first flight in November 1942, and was active in low-altitude support missions and attack aircraft interception; it was operated by the Royal Navy Air Corps as the Wildcat Mk.VI. A total of 4,127 were produced -- the highest number produced of any F4F aircraft.
