This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The T-2 is an advanced training aircraft that has trained many elite pilots of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force that protect the skies of Japan. It was the first supersonic aircraft originally developed in Japan; it made its first flight in 1971, started operation in 1974, and was active until 2006. Meanwhile, since the latter half of the 1970s, the Technical Research and Development Institute of the Defense Agency had been developing a CCV machine based on the third prototype of the T-2 for research on fly-by-wire technology. The first flight was successful in 1983, and various tests were conducted by the Defense Agency from 1984 to 1986, allowing the collection of much valuable data. The aircraft features different equipment from the T-2, such as horizontal/vertical canards and fairings that accommodate larger actuators under the main wings.
This model kit includes a pilot figure that fits into the cockpit; you can open the canopy to admire the cockpit interior, or close it to reflect the tension of takeoff. Each part of the fuselage is reproduced in detail, down to the panel lines and its sharp shape. Various canards unique to CCV machines are also carefully modeled, as is the landing gear.
