This is an injection-plastic airliner model kit.
The D.H. Comet was the world's first jet airplane, manufactured by DeHaviland in the U.K. It took its first flight in 1949; it had a cruising speed of 725km/h. It was used by British airlines starting in 1951; its engine resulted in little vibration and the comfort level was high, so about 30,000 people flew aboard this aircraft during its first year of operation. The Comet was in operation in airlines around the world until its retirement in 1982.
This kit from Mach 2 is the first 1/72-scale kit of this aircraft, and is cast in off-white plastic, with decals; will be about 50cm long with a wingspan of 48.6cm when completed. Typical Mach 2 quality.
