Description

This is an assembly kit of a space exploration vehicle or other non-fictional mechanism.

This is a 1/72 scale model kit of the Chinese satellite launch rocket, Chang Zheng-1D type, with a total length of approximately 40 cm when completed.

The Chang Zheng-1 type is a three-stage satellite launch rocket developed independently by China, which achieved its first successful launch in 1970. The 1D type is an improved version with modifications to each stage, successfully launched in May 1995. Although it succeeded in its second launch in 1997, the third launch in 2002 ended in failure, leading to its discontinuation.

With a total length of 28,220 meters (393mm for the kit), the first and second stages are liquid rockets using unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (aka hypergolic propellant and you don't want to be close to this stuff) as fuel, while the third stage is a solid fuel rocket. It has a maximum payload capacity of 930 kg to orbit.
