This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The Tachibana type is a plan-based ship type that is a further simplification of the Matsu type, built as a wartime rapid destroyer, and is also known as the Kaimatsu type. The main missions of the Matsu-type, including the Tachinbana-type, are to support landing and supply operations. The first ship of this class, the Tachibana, completed at the Yokosuka Arsenal in January 1945, sank in July of the same year after being attacked by an Allied aircraft off the coast of Hakodate.Three other ships from that type were refurbished with stern-mounted drop platforms.

This model kit from Pit-Road can be built as a full-hull or waterline version; a drop platform for ships equipped with that feature is also included, as are parts for vehicles and decals for six additional ships.
