Fujimi adds the Japanese Navy light cruiser Yahagi to their lineup! The Yahagi was the third Agano-class ship to be completed at the Sasebo Naval Arsenal in December 1943. The Agano class was planned as a torpedo squadron flagship, and features a modern appearance and armament that distinguishes it from the previous 5,500-ton class. The Yahagi's main armaments were three twin 15cm twin cannons, and two newly developed 8cm twin high-angle guns. After completion, Yahagi participated in major battles such as the Battle of Mariana Gulf and the Battle of Leyte Gulf. In the meantime, her anti-aircraft weapons were reinforced. In April 1945, in response to the U.S. forces that landed on Okinawa, she sortied as the flagship of the 2nd Torpedo Squadron to escort the battleship Yamato; as a result, she died in battle on her way to Okinawa.

Fujimi's model kit of the Yahagi can be built to reflect her appearance in multiple years. She was the last ship to sortie to Okinawa with the Yamato in April 1945 during Operation Tenichi, and she was equipped with 28 single 25mm machine guns. After the Battle of Mariana Gulf from the end of June 1944, 18 single 25mm machine guns were installed, before the shape of the air work deck was changed. At the time of the Battle of Mariana Gulf in June 1944, her single machine guns were said to have not been reinforced. The high-angle rangefinder support cylinder is a different part in response to the change in shape between 1944 and 1945. The air work deck is a special part that corresponds to the shape of the opening and to two types of annual differences.
