This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

The DD-119 Asahi is a state-of-the-art escort ship launched in October 2015 and commissioned in March 2018 as a modified Akizuki-type general-purpose escort ship. Her hull is based on the Akizuyki type, but the structure has been significantly improved. Although she is a general-purpose destroyer with well-balanced anti-aircraft, anti-ship, and anti-submarine capabilities, while the Akizuki class emphasized air defense, this ship focuses on anti-submarine defense. 

This model kit from Pit-Road can be built as either a full-hull or waterline model. One SH-60K patrol helicopter is included. The upgrade parts set includes photo-etched parts for the handrail, rattle, door hatch, louver, float, mast strut, screw guard, fall prevention net, landing ship command post, boat container, 12.7mm machine gun, helicopter rotors anymore; turned brass parts are included for the main barrel, whip antenna (x5 long, x4 short).
