This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.
From her commissioning in 1922 to the completion of the carrier Akagi in 1927, the light carrier Hosho was the most advanced aircraft carrier in the Imperial Japanese Navy. From 1933 on she served as primarily a training carrier, even throughout WWII. She did provide some defensive air action during the Battle of Midway, and was also damaged in port at Kure, but survived the war and was eventually scrapped in 1947 after having served to repatriate Japanese soldiers and citizens after the war.
Fujimi's sharp kit of the Hosho is a waterline model, and includes an optional photo-etched metal flight deck for improved detail and realism (a plastic deck is also included). Also includes an air wing of six Navy Type 10 Carrier Fighters.
