From the manufacturer:
In May 1905, the HMS Dreadnought was approved for construction. It began service on December 3, 1907, and served as the flagship of the British Royal Navy's Home Fleet until 1912. It appeared in the First World War on March 18, 1916, and fearlessly sank the German U-29 submarine in the North Sea. It was deloped from 1916-1918 to partrol the Thames estuary, and transferred to the Reserve in 1919. Sales were stopped in 1921.
The HMS Dreadnought represents an important watershed in battleship technology, commonly known of its kind as "dreadnoughts."
