Description

This is an injection-plastic ship model kit.

Commissioned in October 1941, the aircraft carrier Hornet participated in the Doolittle bombing raid on the Japanese mainland in April 1942 and the Battle of Midway in June. Later, in the Battle of the South Pacific in October, she was severely damaged and abandoned after three air attacks by the Imperial Japanese Navy's task force. Finally, she was sunk by the destroyers "Akigumo" and "Makigumo". This diorama set is based on the image of a scene in which the IJN Task Force's Zero Fighter Type 21, 99 Ka-bombers, and 97 Ka-bombers attack the aircraft carrier Hornet.
