This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

Developed in late 1960s and deployed in the 1970's, the Yak-28PP was the first Soviet aircraft with electronic countermeasures. The Yak-28PP was typically armed only with an electronic countermeasures suite located in the internal bomb bay to blind air defense radars. Various aerial and dielectric panels were equipped for transmitting the jamming electronic signals. Excess heat generated by the jamming equipment was dissipated by the two heat exchangers under the mid-fuselage. Below the engine nacelles was a system for deploying chaff strips in massive quantities. When necessary, chaff strips were also fired ahead of the aircraft from the rocket pods. Dedicated to the protection of attack aircrafts, a few of Yak-28PP equipped with customized jammer versions would fly together to jam enemy radars of different frequency bands. The Yak-28PP was one of the "Brewer" variants that remained in service for the longest period of time. It was replaced by similarly-equipped Su-24MP "Fencer-F" in 1989. It has been reported that some Yak-28PP ECM platforms remained on active duty with the Russians through 1993.
