Description

This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

This kit from Arsenal Model is a completely new mold! The SO-1221 Djinn is a two-seat light helicopter designed and manufactured by Sud-Ouest in France. The SO-1221 is different from Sud-Ouest's early Ariel tip-jet type (afterburner type, cold air tip jet), and is a cold air tip-jet type (cold cycle type, tip jet) that ejects compressed air from the tip of the rotor blades. Apart from that, like a normal helicopter, it was equipped with a Turbo Meca Artouste turboshaft compressor drive engine for propulsion behind a two-seat parallel cabin. Since this machine uses a tip jet, there is no need for a tail rotor for anti-torque, and there are only two tail wings and a rudder at the rear of the exposed tail boom. The first flight was in 1953, and 178 aircraft were produced until 1968. Most of the helicopters produced were used by the French Army; the U.S. Army and West German Army purchased several each as well.

This model kit comes with photo-etched parts, painting mask stickers and decals for three French versions. Order yours today!

  • [Size]: Approximately 11cm long, 22.9cm rotor diameter
  • [Includes]: Photo-etched parts, painting mask stickers, decals for 3 versions
