Description
This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
A completely new mold from Sword!
The L-5 is a military liaison aircraft developed by the American Stinson Aircraft Company in 1939 based on the Model 105 civilian light aircraft.
Although it looks similar to the Model 105, it was completely redesigned to meet the needs of the US military.
The L-5A, which was produced from 1942, had a tandem cockpit, and when the L-5B appeared in 1944, it had a wider rear fuselage and a large door on the right side, making it possible to carry a stretcher or 250 pounds of cargo behind the pilot.
By September 1945, a total of about 3,600 L-5s had been produced in the series, making it the second most widely deployed US military liaison aircraft after the Piper L-4 Cub.
Of these, about 300 were deployed to the US Navy and US Marine Corps as OY-1/2, and about 100 were handed over to the Royal Air Force under the Lend-Lease Act and served on the Indo-Burma front as Sentinel Mk.I/II. After the war, 35 were provided to the Japanese Security Forces, and they continued to be used until around 1958 even after the establishment of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.
Paint mask stickers and three types of decals are included.
When completed, the total length is about 153mm and the total width is about 216mm.
-Three types of decals are included:
-US Army Lt. General George Patton's personal aircraft
-US Army Lt. General Mark Clark's personal aircraft
-Royal Air Force Sentinel Mk.I
