This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The F-104 is a supersonic jet fighter developed in the U.S., nicknamed Starfighter. Between 1962 and 1986, the Royal Canadian Air Force introduced 200 of the Canadair-licensed CF-104 and 38 of the CF-104D. The Royal Canadian Air Force's CF-104 unit was deployed only to model conversion training units in mainland Canada, with all combat units deployed in West Germany and France. Since the RCAF CF-104 unit was tasked with conducting a tactical nuclear attack by mounting a tactical nuclear weapon under the fuselage under the command of the NATO Army, it was initially deployed to extend the cruising range without mounting the M61 Vulcan gun. An auxiliary fuel tank was installed in the space formerly occupied by the Vulcan cannon and its ammunition. In addition, the aircraft was unpainted and only the main wings were painted white; additional measures were taken to protect the aircraft from the flash of a nuclear explosion. In the early 1970s, the nuclear attack mission was lifted and tactical attacks with conventional weapons became the mission, leading to it being equipped with the M61 Vulcan gun.
