This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
A total of about 50,000 American M4 Sherman tanks of various types were produced; it was the main battle tank of the Allied Forces in World War II. At the beginning of its development, it was equipped with a star-shaped air-cooled nine-cylinder engine originally used in aircraft; however, due to the increased production of aircraft, there was a shortage of engines for tanks. Automobile manufacturers were asked to develop an engine; General Motors developed a 12-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel engine with a characteristic design combining two inline six-cylinder engines in parallel. The Sherman equipped with this engine is known as the M4A2. Production started in 1942, but the Army did not like diesel engines, and it was mainly deployed by the Marine Corps because it used the same fuel as ship engines. In addition, it was also granted to the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease Act. In addition to the type equipped with a 75mm gun, a long-barreled 76.2mm gun type was also produced. The 76.2mm gun-mounted type was provided to the Soviet Union. Vehicles equipped by the Marine Corps were also used in battles with the Japanese Army on the Pacific Front, and they fought fierce battles in the jungle with the Marines.
This model kit from Dragon reproduces the M4A2 Sherman tank mainly used by the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. The style unique to the Sherman, such as the cast turret on the upper part of the welded body, is fully reproduced; the texture of the turret's cast surface is also realistic. The commander's cupola can be built as either of two different versions. In addition, each hatch, including the pistol port hatch on the side of the turret, can be built opened or closed. This kit includes the same Magic Track as used by the T54E1; 3D-printed duckbill parts that are attachable to the side of the tracks are also included. More 3D-printed parts are included for the light and horn guard, too. Aluminum parts are provided for the main gun barrel. The upper part of the hull features a separate part for the rear engine deck, and parts such as the grilles are sharply reproduced. A wooden protective plate to prevent the magnetic adsorption mines often seen on the Pacific Front is included, and applique armor parts to protect the ammo storage inside the tank are also included. Decals are included for the U.S. Marine Corps 1st Tank Battalion on Peleliu Island in 1944. Order yours today!
