This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
Operation Grief is the false-flag operation that took place during the Battle of the Bulge, the last counter-offensive operation of the German Army that began on December 16, 1944, at the end of World War II. It was aimed at a rearward disturbance of the Allied Forces by a German soldier wearing an American soldier's uniform driving a captured Jeep. The Panther M10 tank destroyer, which disguised the Panther tank as an American M10 tank destroyer, was used in that operation. The base vehicle was the Panther G type with its turret cupola removed; a camouflage panel made of iron plate was attached around the turret and hull. A white star mark was added to the olive drab color of the American Army. Five to ten of these camouflaged tanks were said to have been made; they were deployed to the 150th Armored Division under the command of Otto Scorzeny, who devised and participated in the operation. The results were unfortunately not what the Germans had been hoping for, but American troops who captured this tank were surprised nonetheless.
This model kit from Dragon reproduces the modified Panther G with its turret removed and camouflage panels attached to the sides. The Panther's distinctive staggered wheels are reproduced in detail on the undercarriage; Magic Tracks are included for realism. Decals for the 150th Armored Division, and the white star mark, are included as well. Order yours today!
