This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Sd.Kfz.251 is one of the half-tracks deployed and operated by the German Army in World War II. The Sd.Kfz.251 is an armored personnel carrier based on the 3t half-track, and had been used to tow various artillery pieces; many variants had also been created. The D type is the final production type, and each part has been simplified to improve productivity. The body was also characterized by a simple design. Production began in September 1943, and it is said that more than 10,000 of this vehicle were built by the end of World War II. The basic type can accommodate ten soldiers in the troop room. It was equipped with a Maybach HL-42 inline six-cylinder engine, and the maximum speed was about 50km/h. It was equipped with one 7.92mm machine gun each in front and back of the open-top troop compartment. It continued to serve in the armored division until the end of the war.
This model kit from Dragon reproduces the final production type D of the armored personnel carrier Sd.Kfz.251. This kit includes night vision equipment parts. The vehicle's simplified design is firmly reproduced, and the open-top troop room is reproduced in great detail. The cockpit features details such as the steering wheel; in addition, gun racks and communication equipment are reproduced in the troop room to create a mechanical finish. The undercarriage is pre-cut, and EZ Tracks are used for ease of assembly. The sprocket wheels and road wheels are realistically detailed. This kit also includes four German soldier figures in dynamic poses with equipment, such as a machine gun equipped with a night scope, a portable anti-aircraft rocket launcher, and a soldier with a Fliegerfaust. This kit is perfect for inclusion in a diorama -- order yours today!
