In World War II, the German Army was equipped with a large number of half-track type vehicles, with tires in the front and tracked rear wheels similar to tanks. Among them, the simple type half-track, which uses a truck chassis with the rear part remodeled into a tracked type, is collectively known as Maultier; they were produced by Opel and Ford Germany.
