About the actual vehicle:

During World War II, the United States enacted the Lend-Lease Act to provide military supplies to various Allied countries, including Britain, the Soviet Union, and China. These supplies were a significant driving force behind the Allied victory. Britain, which lagged behind in the development of land weapons, was loaned over 17,000 M4 Sherman tanks by the United States and operated them from the North African front. In 1943, the development of the 17-pounder gun progressed. The British Army decided to replace the 75mm gun on the loaned M4 Sherman tanks with this powerful anti-tank gun, the 17-pounder gun. To accommodate the different-sized 17-pounder gun, modifications were made to the turret, and a new hatch for the loader was installed. The Sherman tanks equipped with the 17-pounder gun, nicknamed the Firefly, were deployed starting in 1944 and played an active role in Europe until the end of the war.

About the model:

The model reproduces the VC type, which was based on the M4A4 and modified into a Firefly, in 1/35 scale. In addition to the aluminum gun barrel, this kit includes 3D printed parts such as British soldier figures, a muzzle brake, an antenna base, and a light guard, enriching the content of the kit. The turret equipped with the long 17-pounder gun is faithfully reproduced, including the box shape at the rear of the turret and the loader's hatch. The lower part of the vehicle is also modeled with VVSS suspension and detailed lower body details. The upper part of the hull also reproduces the welding marks of the armor plates, ensuring sufficient realism. The kit includes two British infantry figures, one wearing a beret and the other wearing a field uniform with a leather vest. Bonus parts include an aluminum gun barrel for the muzzle brake and 3D printed parts for the inner rifling. Additionally, a one-piece molded cleaning rod and antenna base are included. Sharp details enhance the finished product. The details of the miscellaneous box mounted on the rear of the turret are delicately reproduced, adding depth to the appearance.
