This is a resin-cast figure or figure set for use with military dioramas or individual display.
The 22nd SS Volunteer Cavalry Division Maria Theresia was a Waffen-SS unit formed around a regiment transferred from the 8th SS Cavalry Division Florian Geyer, supplemented by ethnic German Hungarians.
Though its popular name "Maria Theresia" (after Empress Maria Theresa) was unofficial, the division adopted her favorite flower (the cornflower) as its insignia.
After training in Hungary, the division first saw combat in Romania and participated in Operation Panzerfaust (where Otto Skorzeny famously operated). When the Red Army advanced into Hungary, it was incorporated into the IX SS Mountain Corps defending Budapest. The unit was ultimately destroyed in fierce urban combat against Soviet forces.
This is a set of resin-cast parts to build the figure as shown here and described in the title. Base and vehicle not included. Packaged in a small box with the resin parts inside a small ziplog bag.
