This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
German's insistence on direct fire support for the infantry led to the invention of "Sturmgechuetz" (Assault Gun). During the war, however, the gun evolved as an anti-tank weapon -- contrary to its original concept. But a small number of Assault Howitzers (its new name) continued to be produced for the role, with a powerful 10.5cm howitzer, until the end of the war. Dragon depicts the final known design of this model, with the gun mantlet (both cast and welded types) bearing a co-axial machinegun, all-round mechanically-controlled roof machinegun, and the howitzer barrel without a muzzle brake. The model is basically the SruG.III G with a 7.5cm gun. Dragon added new plastic parts for the Assault Howitzer, consisting of two gun mantlets with co-axial machinegun, sprocket wheels without hubcap, and additional hull armor plates. Two types of muzzle brakes (optional) are injected in one piece with Dragon's special "sliding molds." One lathed aluminum barrel with open muzzle is included. A set of brass photo-etched parts for the anti-bazooka skirt armor brackets (armor plates not included), engine deck stowage support rails, and grilles for engine air intake are also included. Tracks are the individual track-link type, made of injection plastic. This is a really nice model of the mainstay of German fire support weapons in the last days of the Reich! No figures are included.
