This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Russian heavy tank KV-1 was first adopted in 1939, and the 1941 model was equipped with a long-barreled 76.2mm ZIS-5 gun that was capable of penetrating the armor on Germany's tanks of the same period from a considerable distance. Early production versions of this tank had a basic turret of 7.5cm armor assembled by welding armor steel plates. In June of 1941, the KV-1 made use of its high defense and offensive ability to persistently defend itself, stopping the invicible German army and contributing greatly to the subsequent victory of the Soviet army.
This kit from Tamiya will be approximately 19.8cm long when completed. It's designed on research conducted on the actual vehicle, using a 1941 version with the welding turret and wheels with built-in cushioning rubber, to closely replicate it as much as possible, with the rough armor surface and welding pattern realistically finished. The tool boxes can be opened or closed, and the tracks are a combined assembly type with straight parts. A commander half-figure and decals for two versions are included.
Also, a papercraft mini tank is included too! The German army distributed 1/20-scale wooden and paper models to their units on the front line, to help with identification and research. Printed in color and ready to cut out and assemble, the mini KV-1 will be about 2cm long, and is ideal to use in scenes of German soldiers studying tactics. Order yours today!
