Information on the M3A3 with PaK 40 from Ding-Hao Hobby:
The Kingdom of Yugoslavia was invaded by the Axis powers in 1941 and was defeated in 10 days. After the armistice, other than the Independent State of Croatia which was established as a Nazi satellite state, other parts of the country were occupied by 5 neighboring countries. Guerrilla warfare was established in such contradictory.
From the start, the Yugoslav resistance forces consisted of two factions: the communist-led Yugoslav Partisans and the royalist Chetniks. The Chetniks obtained supports from the British Government in the beginning. Yet the Chetniks soon focused increasingly on combating the Partisan, therefore the British chose to support the Partisans after the Tehran Conference in 1943. By June 1944, the Partisans received recognition from exiled royal government.
The Eighth Army in Egypt started to train Yugoslavian armour forces from March 1944. M3A3 light tanks along with other armour vehicles were supplied by July 1944. In November, the Yugoslavian armour forces landed on their homeland to join combats. As the M3A3s were inferior to German armour vehicles already, after the Battle of Sibenik, engineers tried to conduct field modification with captured German cannons as well as extra armours from Sd.Kfz.251. Five of the M3A3s received 75mm Pak 40 guns, one received 15cm sIG 33, two were converted with 80mm Gr.W.34, and four were converted with 20mm Flak 38V. Three of them still saw service until 1949.
