The E-60 was designed as a medium tank in the E Plan, which standardized tanks by weight by standardizing various components in the development of each tank, which had been extremely complicated until then, to increase productivity. In October 1943, the E plan tank established the mass-production system of the initial design type, but this E-60 became a late starter by diverting the body design of the E-10 to a medium tank, and the actual deployment was after 1945. 

The E-60 has a design that completely eliminates surplus equipment, even surpassing the E-75/50, and this is reflected in its linear and planar appearance with almost no curves. As a result, the number of manufacturing processes was greatly reduced, and mass production was dramatically improved; but due to the end of the war, the number of units produced was limited, and it was not enough to affect the war situation. The E-60 series tank destroyer is the Kanonenjagdpanzer 1-5.
