This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
Can you believe it's been 80 years? The 1/4-ton four-wheel-drive truck was a small American military vehicle developed during World War II and deployed in large numbers. Based on a prototype vehicle developed by Bantam in 1940, it was also produced by Willis and Ford, and it was deployed in combat starting in 1941. It was equipped with a leaf-spring rigid axle on a rudder frame, and was active on all fronts due to its excellent four-wheel-drive running performance, toughness, and high reliability. It was used by the U.S. Army and also by the British Army as a special forces vehicle. Its total production numbers was said to be over 600,000! It was not only used by the armed forces of each country for a long time after the war, but its practicality was highly supported by civilian users, and it helped establish the new genre of the off-road vehicle.
This model kit from Italeri accurately reproduces each mechanism of this familiar vehicle; the chassis equipped with leaf springs on the rudder frame and the four-wheel drive mechanism, as well as the front and rear axles, are carefully duplicated. An in-line four-cylinder engine is also modeled in front, and it can be admired by opening and closing the hood. New rubber tires are included for both the front and rear, and the quality of the suspension has been improved. The simple interior includes the dashboard and seats, allowing you to experience this vehicle's inherent toughness. The hood is also available with parts that reproduce its stretched state. Although it's been 80 years since this beloved vehicle first rolled off the assembly line, its appeal never gets old -- place your order today!
