This is an injection-plastic racing car model kit.
The Porsche 911 RSR Turbo was developed by Porsche for the 1974 sports car racing world championship. It was based on the 911 Carrera RSR 3.0, which was prepared as a Group 3 machine for the same 1974 season. The engine is a SOHC air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder with a displacement of 2,142cc, and is equipped with a KKK turbocharger. It adopted a displacement classified as a prototype group 5 of three liters or less, with a turbo coefficient of 1.4. It had 500 horsepower, and it is equipped with wide, large-diameter rear tires to transmit that power to the road surface. A large rear fender was installed to cover the tires, and a huge rear wing was attached to create a powerful body style. The machine made its debut at the Monza 1000km in April 1974, finishing 5th, 3rd at the Spa 1000km, and 6th at the Nurburgring 1000km. Although it retired due to engine trouble, the other one showed a good run that ran at the top for a while and finished in 2nd place.
This model kit from Italeri reproduces the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo prototype developed by Porsche in 1974. Its powerful body style with overfenders and a large rear wing is realistically modeled with subtle curved surfaces. Of course, the familiar Martini strip that decorates the body is included as decals, as are decals for car number 22, which came in 2nd place in the 1974 Le Mans 24-hour race. The rear of the car is equipped with a single turbo, which is expressed with a small number of parts, and the cockpit reproduces a Spartan atmosphere with its seats and dashboards. This kit features a reduced number of parts for ease of assembly. You'll be proud to work on and display this iconic supercar -- order yours today!
