This is an injection-plastic passenger car kit.
In order to qualify for Trans Am racing in 1970, Plymouth had to build and sell to the public a certain number of cars...and that car was the AAR 'Cuda, available only in 1970. Based on the standard Barracuda, which itself was newly redesigned for the 1970 model year, the AAR (Dan Gurney's "All American Racers") 'Cuda featured a high-winding 340 cubic inch small block engine fitted with an aluminum intake manifold carrying three Holley two-barreled carburetors, side-exit dual exhausts, and various other chassis and suspension modifications. A special lightweight fiberglass AAR hood with functional scoop was fitted, as were chin and rear deck spoilers and distinctive "strobe" side stripes with AAR 'Cuda logos. Although the actual Trans Am racing AAR 'Cudas didn't find the success they were seeking, the street AAR 'Cuda is now considered one of the most impressive and most desirable muscle cars in existence.
Revell's new release of the AAR 'Cuda features a newly tooled body and other parts, in an attempt to correct some of the dimensional discrepancies of their original 1995 release...to varying degrees of success, depending on who you listen to. Sure, the rear fender line might be just a tad off, and then there's the roof...and the solid opening in the front valance. But hey, it looks like a 'Cuda to me, and a very, very cool one at that! The kit features a detailed interior and 340 Six-Barrel engine, accurate Rallye wheels, rubber tires, and decals for the strobe stripes, license plates, and more. Molded in white and clear plastic with black vinyl tires. A nice model of a mighty Mopar classic!
