From the Dragon website:
The Soviet Tupolev Tu-142 owed its origin to the earlier Tu-95 turboprop strategic bomber. Improvements included reinforced undercarriage, improved avionics and weapons. Referred to as the "Bear F" by NATO observers, this large aircraft was widely used for maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare (ASW). The Tu-142 was manufactured from 1968 through 1994. In the Bear F’s lifetime it was continually improved, culminating in the long-range Tu-142MZ with sophisticated avionics and impressive payload. Becoming operational in 1993, the MZ variant can be recognized by its chin fairings. The final Tu-142MZ was completed the following year, bringing the genealogy of this Bear to an end after 26 years of production. A number still serve today in the 76th Naval Aviation Regiment of the Russian Navy.
Dragon/Cyber-Hobby is offering a spectacular 1/200 scale kit of the end-of-the-line Tu-142MZ in Russian Navy service. The quality of the plastic molding is impressive, with full detail on the aircraft perfectly reproduced in miniature. New parts for this kit are the tail assembly and fuselage belly. The box includes all the necessary decals so modelers can depict an aircraft serving with the modern-day Russian Navy. For fans of modern military aircraft, this Dragon/Cyber-Hobby kit is worth a huge "Bear hug"!
