This is a wooden model kit of a building or other structure.
Located in Shuri in the Okinawa prefecture, Shuri Castle was the seat of the Ryukyu Kingdom between 1429 and 1879. It was almost entirely destroyed during the Battle of Okinawa in 1945; after rebuilding it was used as part of a university. In October of 2019, fire broke out and destroyed much of the castle; rebuilding it will take decades, so an interactive 3D digital reconstruction using photos and video footage is currently being worked on, which would be available both online and on the castle site itself.
This kit from Woody Joe consists of precisely laser-cut wooden parts to recreate Shuri Castle's wall with round pillars, lattice windows and eaves, and other parts. The powerful dragon head ridge decoration and the statue of the Great Dragon Pillar are recreated with soft metal; shoji paper and special seals are also included. This majestic structure will be approximately 39cm wide when completed, and construction time is estimated at about 50 hours. Add this beautiful building to your collection today!
