This is a wooden model kit of a building or other structure.
Woody Joe's latest wooden model is the iconic Gifu Castle! It was originally known as Inabayama Castle, and was the residence of Dosan Santo. Nobunaga Oda captured the castle in 1567, settled the area, and made Gifu Castle the home of the unification of Japan. However, in the battle of Sekigahara in 1600, it was attacked by the Tohoku army and fell after a fierce battle. The current castle was built by the Gifu Reconstruction Period Alliance in July 1931.
This kit accurately reproduces this classic castle, including the tower on the third and fourth floor. Three different kinds of hardwood are used, and gold seals are provided for the design on the gable boards. For the first time, Woody Joe includes instructions to make a diorama mountain surface using paper clay! An estimated assembly time is 42 hours, and assembly instructions (in Japanese) are provided. Cypress, spruce, kamishiro tamo, and other woods are used, as are metal pieces and stickers.
