Description

This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

The F/A-18C Hornet is a carrier-capable fighter operated by the U.S. Navy. Production began in 1979, and upgrades were made based on the early model F/A-18A/B, which made its first flight and was deployed in 1987. It's equipped with two GE F404-GE-402 turbofan engines that exert a hydraulic power of 7,330kg when the afterburner is used. It boasts a top speed of 1,190mph and a cruising range of 1,250mph. With a combat radius of 460 miles, it was highly capable as a fleet defense fighter or interceptor. In addition to a 20mm M61A1 Vulcan cannon, a total of nine hard points are available under the wings and fuselage. The Hornet demonstrates its multirole capabilities with the C-type, which has made it possible to operate various missiles such as AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, Maverick air-to-ground missiles, and Harpoon anti-ship missiles. The E/F type with added upgrades has since taken over its role.

This model kit from Platz reproduces the single-seat C type of the F/A-18, with sharply detailed parts made by FToys. Decals by Cartograf are included for two aircraft from the squadron stationed at Atsugi Air Base in Japan. Place your order today!
