This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The Harrier was launched in 1966 as the world's first practical vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The U.S. Marine Corps is considering deploying it, focusing on its ability to take off and land without the need for a well-developed airfield or other facilities. The AV-8B Harrier II was create in collaboration with the United Kingdom, with improvements made to its weapon payload and cruising range. In addition to enlarging the main wings to improve its weapon-carrying capability, it's also equipped with an upgraded version of the more powerful Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine. It made its first flight in 1983, and the U.S. Marine Corps began operating it in 1987. The VMA-214 Black Sheep squadron, founded in 1942, operated the AV-8B Harrier II from 1989 to 2022. This aircraft also played an active role in the Iraq War.
Platz's newest model kit reproduces the AV-8B Harrier II, an improved version of the Harrier developed jointly by the United States and the United Kingdom. Its unique fuselage shape as a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft is realistically expressed; the parts are made by F-Toys and are easy to assemble. Parts are included for two aircraft. The jet nozzle allows for vertical takeoff and landing, and the angle can also be changed. Don't miss the Harrier's unique mechanisms, such as the main landing gear laid out in tandem, and the outriggers installed in the center of the wing. Decals by Cartograf are included for two aircraft belonging to the U.S. Marine Corps' VMA -214 Black Sheep squadron. Place your order today!
