This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The A-6 Intruder is an attack aircraft deployed and operated by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps from 1963 to 1997. One of its major features was its design of a parallel double-seat cockpit to store large radar equipment in the nose. It was equipped with two Pratt & Whitney J52-P-8B turbojet engines, and its top speed was 644 mph. A total of five hard points are installed on the fuselage -- four on the underside of the main wing and one on the underside of the fuselage. It could carry air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, rocket pods and conventional bombs, and had a maximum armament capacity of 18,000 pounds. It participated in the Vietnam War when operation began in 1963; at that time it was also stationed in Japan and could be seen at Iwakuni Air Base.
This model kit features parts made by Dragon, and parts for two aircraft are included. The unique fuselage shape with a parallel two-seat layout is accurately reproduced, and the inside of the cockpit seen through the large canopy is also realistic. Weapons such as missiles are modeled under the wings. Decals by Cartograf for two aircraft are enclosed, including the CAG machine of the VA-115 Eagles, stationed at Atsugi Base in Japan.
