This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The VM-T is a non-standard freight transport aircraft based on the M-4 bomber, used to transport the Soviet spacer shuttle Bran and Energia rockets from the factory to the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The VM-T, which has a structure for loading large cargo on the back of an M-4 bomber, has been changed from a single vertical stabilizer to a format in which twin vertical stabilizers are attached to both ends of the horizontal stabilizer, and is equipped with ultra-heavy and large-volume cargo. In order to do so, fly-by-wire was introduced in the flight control system. The aircraft, which made its first flight in 1981, was initially of great concern for accidents due to its design; Western aviation critics said, "Soviet rationalism sometimes allows the plane to fly by the magic of science." However, no fatal accidents have occurred so far, and no aircraft has been lost due to a crash. The VM-T retired in 1989 when its successor, the An-225 Muriya, was commissioned.
This model kit from Mikro Mir comes with a newly molded fuselage and tail parts for the VM-T, two types of cargo pods, photo-etched parts, painting mask seals and decals for one version. Order yours now!
