The Sten gun is a 9mm-caliber submachine gun developed in the UK during World War II. In 1940, Britain was suffering from a serious firearms shortage due to the deployment of U-boats, air raids on the mainland, and the loss of equipment during the Dunkirk evacuation; the Sten gun was born as a solution to this problem. It was designed with production efficiency in mind, using pipe material for the receiver and adopting a simple trigger mechanism. It was manufactured in any factory that could process metal products, and was so highly productive that it was even made in the factories of toy manufacturers. The Sten gun played an important role in overcoming the country's disadvantages and seizing the key to rebellion.
